session fAQ

Do you require a deposit? Contract? Do we pay in full?

Yes! I require a 25% deposit at the time of booking (though I am flexible). I also require that a contract is signed by all parties involved to ensure the safety of everyone. The total amount of the session package is due before I do any labor. I prefer it be paid the day before the session to make the day-of a bit less stressful. As always, if you absolutely need accommodations, those can be considered.

When will we receive our photos?

Depending on the size of your package, the editing process can take five to seven days. I normally don’t let it go past a week. I get so excited to edit your photos!

Where do we shoot?

We can work together on that! I love picking locations that mean something to my clients. If you like to fish, let’s go to the lake; if you like to go to the movies, let’s go to the theater; if you like hiking, let’s go deep in the woods. I love when I can get my clients in their natural habitat.

As always, if you have a specific look in mind for your session, we can talk about that too.

What time is best to shoot?

We can shoot any time, though I do prefer couple hours before sunset. If we are shooting inside, I like to have the sun at a pretty high point so we can have lots of natural light flowing in windows. It also depends on what look you’re going for in your session. There’s tons of possibilities and variables!

What do we wear?

I get asked this question all the time, especially by clients that haven’t ever had a professional photoshoot. My number one recommendation is to be comfortable. I want you to be able to move around and feel good in your own skin. As far as colors go, I love earth tones with rich accent colors. If someone in your party is wearing patterned clothing, try matching the colors of the other outfits to their pattern. This is definitely something we can talk more about when planning your session!

What should I bring?

Anything that goes with the vision for your session! I love props, but they can distract at times. I like for you to be the center of your photos, but if you have things you’d like to include - let me know! Having something to hold and fiddle with can be really helpful if you’re nervous taking photos.

Other than props, Make sure you bring what you need to feel comfortable. I always suggest bringing water, chapstick, hairspray + clips, comfy shoes, and wet wipes for kiddos because you never know.

Can we bring pets?

It’s highly encouraged! I’m a fur-momma who is obsessed with all my babies so I know how special it can be to have them a part of your session! If you have pets that are a big part of your life, please consider bringing them. Dog, horse, duck, pig, frog, and everything in-between is welcomed!

Where/how do we print?

You have full printing rights over your photos! You are encouraged to print through your online gallery. It is the most professional choice and you support me as your photographer (I also give a 20% off code to clients who post reviews). If printing from a professional service is out of budget, you’re free to download and print your images anywhere you like!
